I had to dig a hole this weekend to bury my pet Unicorn, Benedict, who died of unknown causes.
I would push the shovel down into the ground, then use leverage to dig out the dirt. I held the shovel at the end of the handle to maximize the length of the lever arm so that I would have to use a minimal amount of force. If I held the shovel near the scooper, then I would hav to use a greater force.
May Benedict rest in peace, way up in Unicorn heaven.
